• Improve our neighborhood parks
By planting more trees and offering community orchards, we can provide our neighborhoods with vital amenities and increase access to community spaces.
• Expand our trails system and preserve historic Fargo Parks buildings
We need to expand access to our trails- the Red River corridor provides great geography for an intricate and diverse trails system, but can offer much more. We have beautiful natural resources and should have them accessible for our public. Additionally, our Parks district has multiple facilities that must be maintained and preserved. One such example is the old train depot on Main Ave; this beautiful space must remain open and accessible for the public.
• Support our Fargo Parks employees
Simply put, our Parks employees are underpaid. Everyone deserves a living wage, from our administrators to our seasonal student employees. I will fight for fairer wages for all Fargo Parks employees.
• Increased accountability to the public
Public opinion is an integral element to the development and expansion of our Parks facilities and amenities. The board and administration work for the people, and the voice of the people needs be heard.
• Create a recreational soccer league for our kids, and update our metro rec center
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. With Fargo’s ever-growing diversity, we must have recreation opportunities for all our communities.
